Are meteorites what really killed off the Dinosaurs?

A few years ago it seemed that the debate over what caused the mass extinction at the end of the Cretaceous period had been resolved when the meteorite impact site off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula was found. But, soon there was debate again about the exact timing of the extinction. There is new information from another source that casts again doubts about and asteroid impact being the cause. Evidence being studied from the Deccan Traps in India indicates that the extinction was caused by these massive volcanic eruptions. Researchers in this study are saying the extinction was well on it way by the time of the Chicxulub asteroid impact.
