How to Identify a Stony Meteorite (part 1)

In these videos I combine music and magic with humor and some basic meteorite information to help the “newbie” meteorite enthusiast get started.

The ability to positively identify a meteorite is a must for any meteorite hunter. These videos will give you the information that you'll need to have in order to do just that.

Stony (chondrite) meteorites all have certain characteristics that differentiate them from terrestrial (earth) stones.

In part one of this two part series I explain stress fractures, fusion crust, and nickel iron.

In part two I describe meteorite characteristics such as chondrules, thumbprints and rust spots.
