Glorieta Mountain Pallasite Meteorites

Pallasite or stony iron meteorites are very rare, so rare in fact that only 1.5 percent of all falls are of this type. I found my first pallasite meteorite at Glorieta Mountain about four years ago. Since then I have been lucky enough to have found quite a few of these precious extraterrestrial gems.

In addition to being other worldly, Glorieta Meteorites are also valuable. Some of these meteorites have been sold for about the same price as gold. Encrusted with beautiful olivine crystals, it’s no wonder that they are so highly sought after.

This footage is of me as I once again head out into the high mountains of New Mexico and painstakingly detect for pallasite meteorites. Watch as I find 8 glorious meteorites the first day and another twelve the second. These meteorites are small, but even small meteorites add up if you find enough.
