My name is SGT Daniel R. Ames, and I am originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana. I married my wife Danielle a week after the birth of my daughter Aralyn in February 2005. I moved to Fort Bragg, N.C. in the summer of 2005 after enlisting in the U.S. Army, as a Field Artillery Cannoneer, and Paratrooper (Soon I will be going to Jumpmaster School). I deployed to Iraq in the summer of 2006 and returned in the fall of 2007. I have been into meteorites since I was a child, and now at the age of 25, it has become a passion. I spent years collecting relics and stones, and have quite a nice collection. It wasn’t until I went home on leave a month prior to my 1st deployment that my interest in meteorites sprang back to the frontlines of my searches. While I was in Kuwait training to deploy in August 2006, I found several possible meteorites in the desert, and carried them in my gear for 14 months, and brought them home. I met Randall Gregory through meteorite forums, and found out he had stones from Aplao Peru that were identical to the stones I had found. Although it is not certain they are meteorites, I have been bitten with the hunting bug, and have produced alot of possible meteorites since that day. As soon as I can afford it, I will have a nice metal detector to aid my hunts, but until then, it’s all eye. And after years of relic hunting, not to mention 20/15 eyesight, my eyes are trained to find what I am looking for. Anyone in the North Carolina area looking to hunt, I am all for it. And anyone looking to hunt in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area, drop me a line and I will let you know when my next leave is. If you have interests in seeing my most recent finds, feel free to E-Mail me at GodForbid667@aol.com

First photo is me on R&R during my 1st deployment.
Second photo is me at JRTC in April 2006.
Third photo is me, Danielle, and Aralyn at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo in 2006.
Forth photo is a possible Angrite?, or Martian? from Kuwait. (Looks similar to D’Orbigny)
Fifth photo is a possible Lunar? Martian? found in a cornfield in Indiana. What do you think? It is one of the most beautiful stones I have ever had the chance to touch. It has to be something...
